"Recently, I had the good fortune of working with Bachmann Construction on projects within the New Glarus School District. From the beginning, Bachmann Construction had a tight bidding timeline and construction schedule. Bachmann Construction was able to meet and exceed the needs of the project, owner, and architect. Remodeling a school while occupied always presents a challenge. Bachmann handled this professionally and without incident.

"Bachmann was an integral part of the team which made these projects successful for the New Glarus School District. I would not hesitate to recommend Bachmann Construction for any project and look forward to working together with them in the future."

Bachmann Construction Leads the Effort to Secure Alternative Financing for Commercial Construction Projects
Financial Options Seminar As the economy slowly recovers from the recession, the construction industry is gradually reviving. Wisconsin area developers and construction companies report that leasing is up and interest rates for construction loans are attractive.

Nevertheless, securing financing from commercial banks remains challenging. New banking rules have tightened project pre-leasing requirements, and the higher insurance premiums banks must pay to shore up their own industry have reduced their capacity to make loans.

To help customers obtain alternative financing for their projects, Bachmann Construction Company has partnered with Wincreek Financial, a network of 14 billion-dollar private funds that has financed a wide variety of commercial real estate projects across the country. In the last decade, Wincreek has become a premier national resource for commercial property developers and investors who seek competitive financing alternatives. Wincreek is able to arrange financing for a wide array of borrowers using unique funding sources not available through commercial banks.

On June 16, 2010, Bachmann Construction Company is co-hosting two seminars to provide details on these alternative financing options available through institutions like Wincreek. For more information or to reserve one of the few remaining seats, contact Jan Daggett at jdaggett@BachmannConstruction.net.

New National Mustard Museum Wows with
Fine Craftsmanship and Historical Character

National Mustard Museum The National Mustard Museum recently moved its extensive collection of the popular yellow condiment to a new home in historic downtown Middleton, Wisconsin. The move began as a renovation of a 153-year-old "friendly store" on Hubbard Avenue. Bachmann Construction Company was hired as the general contractor on the project.

In spring 2009, during the early stages of the renovation, a portion of the building's basement wall collapsed. Because of safety concerns over the deteriorating stone foundation, the original building was torn down.

"We felt it was very important to maintain the historical aspect of this building," said Al Bachmann, Chief Executive Officer of Bachmann Construction. "Although the original structure was not saved, all of the original 17,000 bricks and part of the stone foundation were used in the construction of the new building."

Other unique aspects of the project included the relocation of an old English store front to the lower level of the Museum. The store front was re-built by the Bachmann woodwork shop. Locally grown hickory was used in the wood sills and extensive custom decorative iron work was used in the staircases and exterior railings. Throughout the project, Bachmann Construction "truly exceeded our expectations," said museum curator Barry Levinson. The new museum is a beautiful building that perfectly fits the character of Middleton's downtown and provides a sparkling showcase for Levinson's remarkable mustard collection and gourmet condiment shop.

Bachmann Construction Specialty:
Design-Build Construction Done the Right Way

When Fred and Ruth Bachmann founded Bachmann Construction in 1954, they had a simple plan — to develop relationships with their clients and to do business "the right way." The "right way" meant that they treated their clients, their subcontractors and their employees with honesty, integrity and excellence.

That "right way" of doing business continues under the leadership of Al Bachmann, CEO, and Diane Bachmann, President and CFO. Its clients and customers benefit from a highly trained workforce of over 120 skilled trades people, each of whom understands what it takes to do things the right way.

Bachmann's specialty is design-build and partnering/fast-track construction. Our focus on doing things the right way allows for accelerated scheduling and efficient project management of design criteria, while keeping the project on budget and on the client's timeline.

Bachmann Construction can also assist with:
•  Design/Build Construction •  Financing strategies
•  General Contracting for new and existing construction •  Pre-construction services and budgeting
•  Historical renovation and restoration •  Concrete Tilt-Wall Construction
