I have worked in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry for 40 years; twelve in the private sector and twenty-eight with the Wisconsin Department of Administration performing quality assurance, field supervision and project management on a wide variety of state owned projects. I have significant experience on installation, care and restoration of masonry facades throughout my career and am presently responsible for building envelope and masonry quality standards on state projects.
I have worked with Bachmann Construction since 1981 on a variety of state design/bid/build projects, including historic properties and repair of masonry facades, the most recent being the Ag Hall South Portico structure at UW-Madison. On most of these projects, I worked directly with Al Bachmann and Chris Quandt. Throughout the project life cycle, both Al and Chris have consistently managed their contract work in a professional and self-directed manner. They demonstrated substantial knowledge, experience and attention to detail in executing the repair work on historic masonry facades. They have a proven range of experience with restoration techniques both self-performed and/or managed through qualified subcontractors.
Al and Chris have always been sensitive to client needs to ensure a successful outcome on projects. They are excellent problem solvers and contribute valuable guidance when working design teams to resolve difficult issues.

Recently, I have had the good fortune of working with Bachmann Construction as the general contractor on projects for the New Glarus School District in New Glarus, Wisconsin. The projects took place at both of New Glarus' schools simultaneously with remodeling bathrooms and repurposing general classrooms for science and technology labs. From the beginning of this project, Bachmann Construction was presented with a short bidding time, a short construction schedule, and ended with construction and closeout classes were being help. Bachmann Construction was able to meet and exceed the needs of the project, owner, and architect. I have worked on educational projects for the past 14 years and remodeling a school while students and staff are present always presents a challenge. These projects were handled professionally and without incident.
Communication with a school district is critical in projects like these to ensure the project is completed successfully and on time. The school district as the owner and I as the architect, were always kept informed of project progress through constant and clear communication. As issues became apparent during the project, they were quickly identified by Bachmann Construction and solved with input from all of the team members.
For this school district, a $400,000 remodeling project is significant project. Chris Quandt, the Senior Project Manager and Ace Lehman, the Project Superintendent from Bachmann Construction gave these projects their full attention and helped us exceed the owner's expectations of how much the project budget could accomplish.
Bachmann was an integral part of the team which made these projects successful for the New Glarus School District. I would not hesitate to recommend Bachmann Construction for any project and look forward to working together with them in the future.

Dear Chris,
June 6, 2003 was the Hayden's first contact with you and Bachmann Construction Company. Our first floor fireplace was in the process of becoming our basement fireplace and we needed immediate assistance! Within a couple hours of talking with you, Bob Krantz and Tim (I'm sorry that I didn't get his last name) were here with jacks and timbers and shored-up the basement ceiling. They also brought with them good humor, the expertise to do the job, and much needed reassurance that all will be well.
That same timeliness, good humor and expertise continued throughout our almost two month association with Bachmann. You personally were always good humored, reachable and amazingly accommodating, as was every single person you sent to us. Bob Krantz was a joy to have around, and his ability to find the right people and get them here when we needed them was nothing short of amazing. (He must be a whiz at putting together jigsaw puzzles!) From Stan and Sarah and Tim to Rick and Fred, your people were punctual, professional, good natured, and even cleaned up after themselves!

Dear Rick:
I would like to thank you and the entire team for the service you have provided to Scientific Protein Labs. Specifically, on June 2, 2003, due to an on-site SPL emergencey, we had to completely repair the walls and ceiling in one of the production areas along with replacing the exterior wall.
SPL entire production line had to be completely shut down, and it was imperative that we became operable as soon as possible. I contacted Bachmann Construction, and your team responded within hours. You immediately assessed the situation and implemented a strategy to accomplish the formidable task that needed to be addressed.
Within twenty-four hours of the first phone call, your team was on site starting the repair process. Within two weeks, the affected production area was completely repaired to the high level required by the pharmaceutical industry.
The knowledge, skills and professionalism exhibited by your staff did not go unnoticed by SPL facilities management. The support you and your team provided enabled us to expedite the startup of production and minimize downtime.
